The Quantact research group was founded in 2010 by three faculty members from the Department of Mathematics at UQAM. In 2013, the research group is now composed of 7 professors and over ten graduate students are currently supervised by one of its members. The group is made up of experts in probability, statistics and financial mathematics. It focuses on the application of mathematical methods to model the occurrence of random events that have a financial impact on society, mainly in the insurance context.
